Poetry Month Poem #5: Mom and Dad

You are so right,
You all are,
I was the fool,
I got it wrong,
You were right,
I don’t have a life,
I don’t have a soul,
I am just a waste of space,
Nothing more,

But I don’t cry even if I am a waste,
I don’t hate myself in the end,
It is you who hates thyself,
Why do you cry if you are right?
Why do you cry if I am the fool?
Where you just a tool, forged to turn me into a fool?
Did you cry because you didn’t guide me right?
Did you cry because I failed you?

I smile, to this day I don’t care,
My knees don’t shake,
I am not weak,
I am not useless,
I have a life,
I don’t give a dam about the soul,
Because the life I have, that’s what I have,
I don’t thank God,
I thank you, the tool,
But you are not the tool for me,
And even if you think you failed,
You created me,
And for that I don’t want you to hate yourself,

Live, don’t try to look so sad,
Don’t cry, don’t cry,
I don’t want to see you sad,
I don’t want you to hate yourself,
Because the love you gave me,
I will give it back,
Because the time you gave me,
I will give it back,
Because the tears you shed,
I will shed,

Don’t feel mad,
Don’t be sad,
I will always love you,
Thanks,
Mom and Dad.
