With “they” I am referring to all of our universities and high schools. Is it just me or did education change a lot. We don’t see teachers as authority but as failed adults who didn’t manage to succeed in their field and just went with teaching as plan B. Parents scream at the teachers because their kid is dumb and the kids blame the teachers for everything they do wrong, it’s just horrible.
What I can’t understand is that we make teachers looks o bad and then wonder why they have no motivation to work. This doesn’t go for all teachers, I mean there are so many out there that there is a big chance that you’ll meet a boring/lazy/uninformed one or two during your time in school.
Today you can’t really go in the real world without a college diploma, no matter what people say you need to have it. You may seen some success stories from people who managed to do things without one, but sometimes the reality is that we are just average, we do not excel in any particular field and that’s why the piece of paper you get after wasting so much money and time is important.
That won’t you assure you a job but it will at least increase the chances you will get one. Of course there are some fields like Gender Studies that won’t assure you a thing and are just a waste of money. It’s one of those college programs that will only give you a useless diploma that you can do noble jobs for free. Well noble jobs if you were educated by professors who don’t have a narrow-minded view of our world. If that’s not the case you will be forced to blog on tumblr and try to make a living by preaching to 12-16 year olds.
I wonder how the future of our education will look like….for now we have teachers that are afraid to encourage free thinking, over protective parents and to be frankly honest dumb kids. As a member of the Generation Z, the one who grew up on the internet I don’t really understand it. How could we, that poses the power of the internet and with it access everything we need, turn out so bad and even worse we created children that are crushing us in dumbness. Ashamed, that’s how I feel about the things I have seen, about the things I head but what can I do alone?
I will tell you what I do and what you could do. First things first talk with your younger neighbors teach them how to be smart, teach them what they don’t teach them in school and why their education is important. I know some of you might do this but I am just spreading the word more.
Sports, help young people enjoy playing sports. I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but with some motivation you can turn everything into fun. Teach them that friendship is important, not that money and hoes are the most important thing. Make them feel good about doing what they like.
You are a guy and like to write, that’s awesome, you are a girl who loves to play basketball, that’s amazing.
We as a whole might not lack information but motivation. Most have it really easy, it’s all in front of them but if you don’t have a challenge in front of you what’s the point?
You might start feeling like it’s to easy and soon you’ll lose the chance to success just because you thought it’s ether too easy.
Oh well there are a lot of things that’s wrong with us, but I hope that we will notice those bad habits and change them ourselves before we doom ourselves.
